Why You'll Love It
Barrel-fermented Chardonnay with real depth: lemon and orchard fruit are joined by honey, almond and subtle oak. Generous yet fresh, and a fine match for poultry or creamy fish.
About The Producer
Agricola Marrone is a fourth-generation family estate in Annunziata, below La Morra in the Langhe. Pietro Marrone began questioning local vineyard conventions in 1910, reducing yields to favour better grapes. That attention to quality remains central to the estate, with hands-on pruning, crop management and selective harvesting. Today Gian Piero and Giovanna work alongside their daughters: Valentina makes the wines, Serena runs the business and Denise leads hospitality. The family combines the structure and tradition of Piedmont with a warm, precise, place-focused approach.
Winemaking Information
100% Chardonnay from southwest-facing calcareous vineyards near Madonna di Como around 350m, with vines planted in the late 1970s. Hand-picked in passes and cooled before pressing. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in French and Austrian barriques, with extended fine-lees ageing and regular bâtonnage. 2023 ABV unverified.
