About The Producer
The Cañas family has worked Rioja Alavesa's vineyards for generations, with Bodegas Luis Cañas established in 1928. Today the estate is recognised for its meticulous understanding of high-altitude vineyard parcels beneath the Sierra de Cantabria. Its Selección de la Familia is a particularly accomplished expression of the family's old-vine fruit.
Winemaking Information
A blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% other local varieties, selected from mature vineyard parcels. Following careful sorting and fermentation, the wine spends twenty months in new French and American oak barrels. The resulting Reserva combines concentrated fruit with spice, structure and impressive ageing potential.
