About The Producer
Champagne Delavenne Père et Fils is a fourth-generation family grower in Bouzy, one of Champagne's celebrated Grand Cru villages on the Montagne de Reims. Jean-Christophe and Maëlle Delavenne oversee the family's vineyards, harvesting, pressing and winemaking at the estate. Pinot Noir from Bouzy and Chardonnay from Grand Cru sites including Cramant give the range its combination of richness and finesse. Parcels are pressed and vinified separately, and the house avoids malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness. Patient ageing in chalk cellars adds complexity and fine bubbles. The estate follows environmentally conscious vineyard practices and is working towards organic certification.
Winemaking Information
Nature Brut Nature Grand Cru is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from Bouzy. Individual parcels are vinified without malolactic fermentation, followed by traditional bottle fermentation and extended lees ageing. Finished without added sugar: dosage 0g/L. The result is a particularly fresh, saline expression of the vineyard.
