About The Producer
Champagne Delavenne Père et Fils is a fourth-generation family grower in Bouzy, one of Champagne's celebrated Grand Cru villages on the Montagne de Reims. Jean-Christophe and Maëlle Delavenne oversee the family's vineyards, harvesting, pressing and winemaking at the estate. Pinot Noir from Bouzy and Chardonnay from Grand Cru sites including Cramant give the range its combination of richness and finesse. Parcels are pressed and vinified separately, and the house avoids malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness. Patient ageing in chalk cellars adds complexity and fine bubbles. The estate follows environmentally conscious vineyard practices and is working towards organic certification.
Winemaking Information
Rose Marne Grand Cru is a blend of 43% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 17% Bouzy Rouge, the estate's still red wine made from Pinot Noir. Bouzy Rouge is a wine component, not a separate grape variety. Separate stainless-steel fermentation, no malolactic fermentation and traditional bottle ageing preserve vibrancy and add fine mousse. The producer lists a Brut dosage of 9g/L.
