About The Producer
Hanna Winery began in 1985 when Dr Elias Hanna turned his family's Sonoma County country retreat into a working vineyard estate. His daughter Christine Hanna has led the business since 1991, building a collection of estate vineyards across the Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley and other distinctive Sonoma sites. Under winemaker Jeff Hinchliffe, Hanna has become known for Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and reds that combine Californian generosity with careful attention to balance and freshness. Cool Pacific fog in the Russian River Valley is especially valuable for Chardonnay, allowing bright acidity to survive alongside ripe orchard-fruit flavours. The estate continues to emphasise vineyard stewardship, thoughtful oak use and food-friendly wines.
Winemaking Information
Fruit is sourced from carefully selected vineyards throughout the Russian River Valley, where cool Pacific fog and warm afternoons allow Chardonnay to ripen slowly while retaining bright natural acidity. Fermentation and maturation in French oak barrels build texture and complexity, while careful lees ageing contributes a creamy mouthfeel without masking the purity of the fruit. The result is a Chardonnay that balances richness with freshness and reflects the elegance for which the Russian River Valley is renowned.
