Amarone has a reputation for being rich, bold and powerful. This certainly has the richness, but its beautifully balanced by a marked freshness running through the wine.

Classic flavours of black cherry, plum and dried fig are wrapped up with dark chocolate, espresso, cinnamon and sweet baking spices. On the palate is a savoury bitterness and bright acidity, keeping everything fresh. The tannins are velvety and the finish is eternal.

This is a wine worth making an occasion for. Think braised beef, venison, aged Parmesan or a perfectly cooked rib of beef.
About The Producer
Cà dei Maghi is a small family estate in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico zone, near Fumane. The Fasoli Fedrigo family has been making wine since the 1800s, with the modern winery established in the 1950s by grandparents Fernando and Luigina. Today, Paolo Creazzi and his family continue the tradition, producing tiny quantities of handcrafted Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto from their hillside vineyards. Rather than chasing volume, the focus is on patience, traditional techniques and expressing the unique character of Valpolicella's historic terroir.
Winemaking Information
Camparsi is produced using the traditional appassimento method, where carefully selected grapes are laid out to dry for around 100 days, concentrating their sugars, flavours and aromas before fermentation. Once the desired concentration is reached, the grapes are gently crushed and undergo a long maceration to extract colour, flavour and silky tannins. The wine is then matured in oak before extended bottle ageing, allowing the rich fruit, spice and savoury complexity to knit together into a beautifully balanced Amarone.
