About The Producer
Domaine Benoît Badoz is rooted in Poligny, where the first slopes of the Jura rise above a landscape of vineyards, woodland and old stone villages. The Badoz family have cultivated vines here for ten generations, with local records tracing their story back to Richard Badoz in 1659.

Each generation has left its mark upon the estate. Benoît’s grandfather, Pierre, was remembered as an ingenious and tireless farmer, while his father, Bernard, helped establish the first Percée du Vin Jaune in 1997, a celebration that has since become one of the Jura’s great annual traditions.

Benoît studied viticulture and winemaking in Beaune before gaining experience at Domaine Carillon in Puligny-Montrachet and Château Pétrus in Pomerol. He returned to Poligny and assumed responsibility for the family estate in 2003, determined to preserve its intimate scale and close connection to the land. The vineyards are centred upon Les Roussots and Les Grands Roussots, where vines take root in ancient marl and schistous clay beneath the Jura foothills. Farmed organically and tended with a light touch, they continue a family story shaped by patience, inheritance and an enduring affection for this singular landscape.
