Saint-Aubin is of Burgundy's smartest buys. This has all the decadence and luxury of stoney, citrusy, nutty Meursault, but not the price tag that 1er Cru can run you.

Why You'll Love It
Jaw droppingly delicious. La Châtenière sits just over the hill from some of the Côte de Beaune's most famous vineyards, offering many of the same qualities for a fraction of the price. Expect ripe lemon, white peach and fleshy orchard fruit, layered with toasted hazelnut, a hint of buttered pastry and that unmistakable Burgundian flintiness. Rich and decadent, yet fresh and precise.
This is certainly a special occasion wine. A wonderful partner for lobster thermidor, Dover sole or a roast chicken with a creamy, tarragon sauce. If you love Meursault or Puligny-Montrachet, you'll be very pleased to have discovered the marvel of top Saint-Aubin.

About The Producer
Domaine Moingeon André et Fils is a family estate based in the village of Saint-Aubin, where generations of the Moingeon family have quietly crafted some of the Côte de Beaune's finest-value wines. Farming around 10 hectares across Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, the domaine focuses on traditional Burgundian winemaking with minimal intervention, allowing each vineyard to express its own identity. Their Premier Cru wines have developed a loyal following for delivering genuine Côte de Beaune pedigree without the eye-watering prices often associated with their more famous neighbours.
Winemaking Information
La Châtenière is one of Saint-Aubin's finest Premier Cru vineyards, perched on a steep, south-west-facing slope of clay-limestone soils scattered with gravel. The grapes are harvested by hand before fermenting with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels. The wine is then matured on its fine lees, allowing the oak to build texture and complexity without overpowering the purity of the fruit. The result is a Chardonnay that perfectly balances richness with the bright, mineral freshness for which Saint-Aubin is renowned.
