Fresh, juicy Chardonnay. No oak here, this is citrusy and light with a little green apple crunch. The palate is round but not heavy and lovely and soft. Great with light, summer salads and white fish dishes. A great entry point to Burgundy.
Coteaux Bourguinons is a regional appellation in the North East of Burgundy where the grapes can come from a larger, yet still defined area. Permitted grapes are Aligoté, Chardonnay, Melon de Bougogne and Sacy, but here is 100% Chardonnay.
Domaine Billard Père et Fils has been a family domain for four generations, based in La Rochepot in Hautes Côtes de Beaune. Since 1999, Jérôme Billard has been at the helm, and he is training his son Louis Billard in the family's know-how, after the latter has worked for two years at vineyards in South Africa and Australia, as well as at Domaine de la Romanée Conti.
