Domaine Fournillon et Fils Chablis 2022

Cracking, classic Chablis. Very bright and fresh with lots of green apple, lemon and chalky minerality. Very refreshing with a nicely rounded mouthfeel. This is equally at home with light fish dishes, or indeed as an afternoon aperitif on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

Domaine Fournillon et Fils is a long-established family estate based in the small village of Bernouil, just north of Chablis. The Fournillon family, headed by Pascal, has been growing Chardonnay here for generations with a straightforward approach that puts freshness and drinkability front and centre. These days, Pascal is making more wines under his own name than selling the fruit on as has been the case in the past. The wines are made simply with minimal intervention and very little oak, allowing the natural character of the region to shine through.
