Joyce 'Submarine Canyon' Pinot Noir 2022

Brilliant, bright, seductive Pinot Noir. I am under it's spell... Bursting with sweet raspberry and pomegranate flavours with a whisper of earthiness and some hibiscus underneath making it feel very layered and complex. Silky tannins and bright acidity make it an easy and versatile food wine, but it's particularly scrumptious alongside herby roast chicken served with morel mushrooms.

Joyce Winery was founded in 1986 by Russell Joyce's father, who planted a small vineyard in Carmel Valley, California. Russell, a self-taught winemaker, has since transformed the winery into a sustainable operation, recently expanding by acquiring and revitalising the old Ventana Winery in Soledad, all while adhering to organic and terroir-focused winemaking practices.

The name "Submarine Canyon" is a geographical reference to the deep underwater sea canyon located in the Monterey Bay. This deep sea canyon is the deepest sea canyon along the west coast and measures over a mile in depth. The marine influence from this cold underwater submarine canyon provides the ideal climate for growing premium Pinot Noir grapes.
