Why You'll Love It
Refined rather than powerful, this is a Riesling that combines concentration with remarkable finesse. The palate is finely textured, with ripe citrus, white peach and subtle herbal notes carried by crystalline acidity and an unmistakable saline, mineral finish. There is real depth here, yet the wine remains poised and effortlessly balanced throughout. A superb partner for lobster, turbot, scallops or roast chicken with herbs, and a wine with the structure and precision to reward extended cellaring.
About The Producer
The Dönnhoff family have been farming in Oberhausen, on the banks of the River Nahe, for generations, but it was Helmut Dönnhoff who transformed the estate into one of Germany’s great names from his first vintage in 1971. Today, his son Cornelius continues the family’s meticulous approach across some of the Nahe’s finest vineyards.
Dönnhoff’s Rieslings are celebrated for their remarkable purity, energy and sense of place. From the volcanic slopes of Kupfergrube to the slate and sandstone of Hermannshöhle, Brücke and Leistenberg, each vineyard has a distinct character, translated with extraordinary precision in the cellar. The result is a range of beautifully transparent Rieslings that we believe rank among the very finest wines Germany has to offer.

Winemaking Information
Sourced from the historic Norheimer Dellchen vineyard, this Grosses Gewächs comes from steep terraced slopes of slate and volcanic porphyry overlooking the Nahe. The site was revived by the Dönnhoff family and is now recognised as one of the estate's finest vineyards. Grapes are hand-harvested over several passes, gently pressed and fermented before ageing in traditional large oak casks on the full lees for at least six months, followed by a period on the fine lees to build texture and longevity.
