Why You'll Love It
A wine of depth and precision, this Grosses Gewächs combines concentrated citrus and white stone fruit with the subtle spice and mineral tension that are hallmarks of this exceptional vineyard. The palate is finely textured rather than weighty, with bright acidity providing shape and length from start to finish. Presented in magnum, it is an excellent choice for sharing at the table and an ideal format for long-term cellaring. Pair with lobster, turbot, monkfish or simply prepared poultry to appreciate its balance and quiet complexity.
About The Producer
The Dönnhoff family have been farming in Oberhausen, on the banks of the River Nahe, for generations, but it was Helmut Dönnhoff who transformed the estate into one of Germany’s great names from his first vintage in 1971. Today, his son Cornelius continues the family’s meticulous approach across some of the Nahe’s finest vineyards.
Dönnhoff’s Rieslings are celebrated for their remarkable purity, energy and sense of place. From the volcanic slopes of Kupfergrube to the slate and sandstone of Hermannshöhle, Brücke and Leistenberg, each vineyard has a distinct character, translated with extraordinary precision in the cellar. The result is a range of beautifully transparent Rieslings that we believe rank among the very finest wines Germany has to offer.

Winemaking Information
This magnum is produced from the oldest vines in the heart of the Höllenpfad im Mühlenberg, a tiny Grand Cru parcel within the Roxheimer Höllenpfad distinguished by its weathered red sandstone soils. The grapes are harvested selectively by hand before gentle pressing and fermentation in a combination of traditional large oak casks and stainless steel. Extended ageing on the full and fine lees enhances texture and complexity, while the magnum format offers particularly graceful, slow bottle development.
