Why You'll Love It
Bright and finely structured, this Riesling offers impressive precision without sacrificing drinkability. Notes of grapefruit, lime and crisp orchard fruit are complemented by smoky, flinty minerality and a saline edge that reflects its volcanic origins. The lively acidity keeps the palate fresh and focused, making it an excellent partner for grilled fish, shellfish, sushi or lightly spiced dishes. A characterful introduction to one of the Nahe's most distinctive terroirs.
About The Producer
The Dönnhoff family have been farming in Oberhausen, on the banks of the River Nahe, for generations, but it was Helmut Dönnhoff who transformed the estate into one of Germany’s great names from his first vintage in 1971. Today, his son Cornelius continues the family’s meticulous approach across some of the Nahe’s finest vineyards.
Dönnhoff’s Rieslings are celebrated for their remarkable purity, energy and sense of place. From the volcanic slopes of Kupfergrube to the slate and sandstone of Hermannshöhle, Brücke and Leistenberg, each vineyard has a distinct character, translated with extraordinary precision in the cellar. The result is a range of beautifully transparent Rieslings that we believe rank among the very finest wines Germany has to offer.

Winemaking Information
This village Riesling is sourced from younger vines in the celebrated Schlossböckelheimer Felsenberg, where pure volcanic soils of weathered porphyry and melaphyre give the wine its distinctive character. The grapes are harvested by hand, gently pressed and fermented in a combination of stainless steel and traditional large oak casks. The result is a wine that captures the unmistakable identity of this remarkable site while remaining approachable in its youth.
