Rathfinny Estate 'Classic Cuvée' 2020

This is always Rathfinny's most expressive cuvée, and boy it shows here. Honeyed lemon in colour, with a welcoming nose of red apple skins that gives way to a rich lemon meringue palate with a red berry fruit finish. An elegant structure with crisp, dry finesse. As an aperitif-style wine, the Classic Cuvée prepares the palate for food with it’s mouth-watering structure. However, it is also a versatile food-matcher, with the character and complexity to pair with roast chicken and meaty fish like hake and monkfish or eggs benedict and gravlax.

Rathfinny English sparklers rank among the best. This family-owned estate was established in 2010 by Mark and Sarah Driver, with the first vineyards being planted in April 2012. Rathfinny’s estate vineyard now extends to over 93 hectares in the South Downs, just three miles from the Channel. Lying on a south-facing slope, their estate vineyard is predominantly planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier as well as small plantings of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris.
