About The Producer
Few names are more closely associated with Riesling than Dr. Loosen. The Loosen family has been making wine in the Mosel for over 200 years, with Ernst Loosen transforming the estate into one of Germany's most respected wineries after taking over in 1988. His philosophy is simple: great Riesling starts in great vineyards, and nowhere expresses that better than the steep slate slopes of the Mosel. Alongside his world-famous single-vineyard wines, Ernst created the Dr. L range to offer authentic, approachable Rieslings that capture everything people love about the variety—vibrant fruit, refreshing acidity and unmistakable sense of place.
Winemaking Information
Made exclusively from Riesling grown on the steep, slate-covered vineyards of Germany's Mosel Valley, this sparkling wine is produced using the Charmat method, where the second fermentation takes place in a pressurised tank rather than the bottle. This preserves the grape's vibrant fruit, delicate aromatics and refreshing acidity while creating fine, lively bubbles. The result is an approachable, fruit-driven sparkling wine with all the character of Mosel Riesling at an everyday price.
