The Schups have been growing Pinot Noir on the Eichkogel mountain for over 300 years. As a UNESCO-recognised biosphere, the family have grown to understand and work with the land in the most sustainable way, and producing stunning Pinot Noir fruit here has become second nature. That is very much evidenced by this belter of a bottle. Juicy, elegant and velvety with fresh notes of raspberry and spice. A decade in the bottle and we're starting to see some earthy, coffee like tones appear too, adding to the wines charm and taking nothing away from the freshness. What a treat this would be served up alongside some roasted game and potatoes.

Winzer familie Gregor Schup is a sixth-generation family run winery that is now in the Niederösterreich winegrowing region of Austria. The family has been living in the region producing wines for more than 300 years. Presently in Guntramsdorf, Winzerfamilie Gregor Schup Winery grew in size from 1.5 hectares of vines to almost 28 hectares in the last few years, and now have more than 200,000 vines grow here in the region of Niederösterreich.
