Why You'll Love It
This is one of Sicily's benchmark natural red wines, made by the natty Pied Piper, Arianna Occhipinti.
There is a lot to unpack here. Vibrant, sun-drenched dark fruit character of southeastern Sicily while remaining wonderfully fresh and elegant. Frappato brings fragrant red berry fruit, wild floral lift, herbs and juicy acidity, while Nero d'Avola add some spice and weight.
Best chilled slightly, this is delicious alongside rustic stews, and roasted vegetables.

About The Producer
Arianna Occhipinti is one of Italy's most influential winemakers and a leading figure in Sicily's natural wine movement. Based in Vittoria in the island's southeast, she began making wine in her early twenties with a determination to showcase Sicily's native grape varieties through thoughtful farming rather than heavy-handed winemaking.
Today her vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically, with biodiversity and healthy soils at the heart of everything she does. Her wines have earned an international following for their purity, elegance and unmistakable sense of place, proving that Sicily can produce wines of freshness and finesse as well as power.

Winemaking Information
The name SP68 comes from the provincial road that passes Arianna's vineyards in Vittoria. Fruit from organically and biodynamically farmed vines planted on limestone-rich red sandy soils is harvested by hand before the Frappato and Nero d'Avola are co-fermented with indigenous yeasts. Following around two weeks of skin contact, the wine spends approximately six to eight months ageing in concrete tanks before being bottled unfiltered with minimal sulphur, preserving its vibrant fruit, silky texture and unmistakable sense of place.
