About The Producer
Domaine Romy is a family-run estate based in the heart of southern Burgundy. For generations, the family has farmed vineyards across the region, focusing on producing wines that reflect both variety and terroir. Their approach combines traditional Burgundian know-how with sustainable vineyard practices and careful, low-intervention winemaking. While the estate is perhaps best known locally for its Beaujolais and Mâconnais wines, their Chardonnay bottlings consistently deliver excellent value and a genuine expression of Burgundy's renowned limestone-rich soils.
Winemaking Information
The grapes for Clos de la Chapelle are sourced from a single enclosed vineyard in southern Burgundy. After gentle pressing, fermentation takes place with carefully controlled temperatures to preserve freshness and purity. The wine is then aged on its fine lees, with a proportion matured in oak barrels to add texture and complexity without overwhelming the fruit. The result is a Chardonnay that balances ripe fruit, subtle richness and classic Burgundian finesse.
