This is Txakoli like you have never tasted before. A slightly more textured, serious wine for the table. Honeyed floral notes with lavender and pineapple aromas leap from the glass. Rich stone fruits, floral hints with a slight spicy touch of fine herbs follow on the palate. The wine carries a classic Txakoli freshness of course, which supports a wonderful structure. This is the wineries fuller, flagship bottling.

Bodegas Virgen de Lorea sits on the green, Atlantic-cooled slopes of Bizkaia (Biscay) and is a brilliant example of how serious Txakoli has become. Working mainly with indigenous varieties, this estate farms a mosaic of hillside parcels that bring natural tension, salinity and character to the wines. Viticulture on this site dates back to the late 17th century, but the current winery was established in the mid-1990s as part of the revival of modern Txakoli.
