Why You'll Love It
Dagueneau's wines are the benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc and Pouilly-Fumé.
This is powerful and pure Sauvignon Blanc, like you haven't tasted it before. If Savvy-B is your "ride or die" grape variety, this is worth saving for your most special occasion.
Supremely elegant and deeply complex. Each sniff over an hour reveals new layers of flavour. A kaleidoscope of citrus oil, hay, white currants, crushed rocks, gun flint, ground herbs and kaffir lime. The palate is taut, chiselled and deeply mineral, with a long, steely finish.
Savour the occasion over an indulgent meal. Truffle risotto or poached turbot with a lemon butter sauce would be appropriate.

About The Producer
Domaine Didier Dagueneau – Iconic Pouilly-Fumé with a cult following!
Founded in 1982 by the legendary Didier Dagueneau, this celebrated estate in Saint-Andelain, in the heart of Pouilly-Fumé, produces some of the most distinctive and sought-after Sauvignon Blancs in the world. Revered by collectors and sommeliers alike, Dagueneau wines are benchmarks not only for Pouilly-Fumé but for the entire Loire Valley – including top-tier Sancerres.
Didier came from a winemaking family but first found fame as a champion motorcycle sidecar racer before becoming a revolutionary force in the wine world. Unafraid to challenge convention, he transformed the image of Pouilly-Fumé through the apdoption of low yields, biodynamic farming, horse-drawn ploughing, and meticulous attention to detail in both vineyard and cellar. His wines became known for their power, precision and ageworthiness, showcasing the pure expression of Sauvignon Blanc with a flinty, mineral-driven edge. Oak ageing and extended lees contact add depth, texture, and complexity, making these wines stand out on any wine list.
Today, Didier’s son Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau carries the torch, upholding his father’s legacy with the same uncompromising standards. Under his guidance, the domaine remains a symbol of innovation and excellence.

Winemaking Information
Sourced from select parcels in Saint-Andelain on flint-rich soils, the vines are cultivated biodynamically, promoting healthy soils and microbial life. The vineyard team practices canopy control and multiple harvest passes to preserve tension and aromatic clarity, especially vital in a cooler, more classical vintage like 2021.
The 2021 growing season was devastated by severe spring frosts, reducing yields dramatically across the estate. Instead of producing individual cuvées such as Silex, Pur Sang and Buisson Renard, Louis-Benjamin chose to blend all of the surviving fruit into a single, limited-production wine: XXI. The fruit comes from the domaine's organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards, harvested entirely by hand through multiple passes. Fermentation and ageing take place in French oak barrels, with no new oak, allowing the exceptional purity of the fruit and the distinctive flinty terroir to shine through.
