Made from Austria’s favourite red grape, Zweigelt, it’s packed with bright cherry, wild strawberry and a little twist of redcurrant, all wrapped up in a clean, dry finish. There’s a lovely crunch of acidity running through it, keeping everything lifted and seriously refreshing.
Brilliant with food. Think grilled chicken, herby salads, smoked salmon, or anything off the BBQ. It’s got enough fruit to please, but enough structure to actually stand up to a plate of something tasty.
From Niederösterreich in Austria, where they quietly knock out some of Europe’s most underrated wines. Funkstille translates loosely to “radio silence”. Ironic really, because once this is open, it tends to get people talking.
