Why You'll Love It
Malagousia is wonderfully fragrant, and amphora fermentation gives this one extra texture and character. Expect quince, ripe pear, lemon and fresh herbs, with enough acidity to keep it bright. Particularly good with salads, chicken and gently spicy dishes.
About The Producer
Moschopolis is a family-run winery in Monopigado, near Thessaloniki in northern Greece, led by the Germanis and Paralidis families. The estate works with native varieties, organically managed and regenerative vineyards, and a low-intervention approach that includes native yeasts and traditional Cretan amphorae.
Winemaking Information
100% Malagousia from the Thessaloniki area, grown organically using regenerative practices on sandy loam with underlying limestone. Fermented with native yeasts on its skins in traditional Cretan amphorae, with extended maceration and malolactic fermentation. Matured on its lees in amphorae for approximately five months; bottled unfined and unfiltered, without added sulphites. The producer's website describes skin contact and low-intervention winemaking; the wine is categorised as white. A 2025-specific Greek exhibition record reports 12% ABV, 2.3g/L residual sugar and 5.7g/L acidity.
