Why You'll Love It
This is properly grown up 'orange' wine. Grapefruit and quince bring freshness and generosity, while warm spice and a pleasingly sappy texture provide plenty to get your teeth into.

There is gentle tannic grip rather than outright chewiness, making it particularly good with aromatic curries, roast squash, or grilled chicken. Distinctive, expressive and refreshing.
About The Producer
Adi Badenhorst founded A.A. Badenhorst Family Wines with his cousin Hein in 2008, establishing their home at Kalmoesfontein on the Paardeberg. The farm’s old bush vines grow across varied slopes in ancient decomposed granite, quartz and iron-rich soils. Adi favours attentive, hands-on farming and minimal intervention in the cellar, producing characterful wines that capture the warmth, fragrance and unmistakable personality of the Swartland.
Winemaking Information
Hand-harvested grapes are chilled overnight before around 60% of the fruit, partly whole bunch and partly destemmed, is placed into concrete tanks. Pressed juice is poured over the grapes to begin a continuous, carbonic-style fermentation. The wine spends approximately three weeks on its skins before being pressed, creating its distinctive colour, fragrance and gentle tannic grip.
