Vina Almirante 'Vanidade' Albariño 2024

Vanidade means vanity, denoting conceit, self-admiration, or an obsession with how one is perceived by others. So I guess I am scratching somebodies ego when I admit that this is really very good Albariño. Classically bright, dry and fresh yet full of big, succulent juicy fruit. Glistening with peach, nectarine, ripe apricot, pink grapefruit and a white flowers with a whisper of sea salt and granny smith. A lot of oomph, but as refreshing as it comes. You will love this with seafood/shellfish on the barbecue. 

Founded in 2000 by a collective of growers and wine-loving families, Viña Almirante is rooted deep in the wild Atlantic corner of Galicia. Based in Portas, the project takes inspiration from the region’s history and the legacy of famed geographer Domingo Fontán, channelling a sense of place into wines that feel vivid, energetic and unmistakably personal. Think salty sea breeze, granitic freshness and Albariño with character.
