Why You'll Love It
A fragrant, wild and rich orange wine with flavours of clementine, grapefruit and saffron. The palate is wild and spicy with layers of cloves, cumin, chamomile and even roasted coffee notes. A juxtaposition of complexity and deliciousness, appealing to both the orange wine convert and maybe even to the cynic. 'Orage' is French for thunderstorm - and certainly this is dramatic in the glass.
About The Producer
Domaine Torredemer-Mangin is an exciting, organic-certified producer in Vingrau, Roussillon (Southern France), founded in 2022 by friends Romain Torredemer and Thomas Mangin. They cultivate 40 hectares of old, limestone-terroir vines, including century-old plots, focusing on minimal intervention, draft horse cultivation, and fresh, precise, and balanced, yet intense, wines.
Winemaking Information
Orage is made from organically farmed Muscat vineyards in the dramatic limestone landscape of Vingrau, in France's Roussillon. The grapes are harvested in two passes to balance freshness and ripeness before fermenting on their skins for around 14 days without destemming. Gentle pump-overs extract colour, tannin and aromatic complexity before the wine spends six months in stainless steel. Bottled unfiltered, it captures all the perfume of Muscat while developing the texture and grip of a classic orange wine.
