About The Producer
The Contini Bonacossi family runs Capezzana in Carmignano, west of Florence. Winegrowing at the estate is documented as far back as 804 AD and Villa di Capezzana has been made since 1925. A small number of bottles are set aside for its ten-year library-release programme.
Winemaking Information
Organic Carmignano DOCG from 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel for around seven days, followed by thirteen additional days of skin maceration. Malolactic fermentation in French oak tonneaux, approximately twelve months in oak and further bottle ageing. A limited parcel of approximately 3,000 bottles was held at the estate for ten-year release. Serve 16–18°C.
