About The Producer
Fontodi is a leading Panzano estate, owned by the Manetti family since 1968 and led by Giovanni Manetti. The organically farmed vines grow on galestro and alberese soils. Vigna del Sorbo is a mature, southwest-facing vineyard renowned for concentrated, ageworthy Sangiovese.
Winemaking Information
100% Sangiovese from mature southwest-facing vines in Panzano. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel, with skin maceration for at least three weeks. Matured in French oak; the producer describes a 24-month regime, though accounts of oak vessel proportions for the 2014 differ. The estate farms organically. The vintage-specific ABV is 14.5%.
