Why You'll Love It
Juicy, fresh Pinot Noir from the south of France with top-tier Burgundian pedigree? Yes please! Plenty of strawberry, raspberry and cherry aromas, but this is no slippery Glou Glou juice. There are fine, grippy tannins, savoury spices and darker fruits on the palate, making this feel refined and quite Burgundian. As such, a roast chicken, lathered in a cream sauce with a healthy spoonful of mustard is a very appropriate accompaniment to this excellent Pinot Noir.
About The Producer
If you recognise Bruno's surname, you clearly have expensive taste. Yes, he is from the family of Domaine des Comtes Lafon, one of Burgundy’s benchmark Meursault producers. Bruno grew up in Burgundy, where he cut his winemaking teeth at the family winery, before moving to the south of France more than two decades ago to realise the region’s massive potential.
As a Burgundian he was particularly dreaming of making high class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in a place that was beginning to turn out a lot of the stuff, but not a lot of it very well. He works with fruit from rarefied sites like in Limoux, famed for centuries for its sparkling wine, and other plots with cooler aspects.

Winemaking Information
Bruno Lafon sources Pinot Noir from cooler, higher-altitude vineyards in the Languedoc, where warm Mediterranean sunshine is tempered by cool nights and Atlantic influences. The grapes undergo a traditional fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks, followed by a short post-fermentation maceration of two to four weeks to gently build colour, flavour and silky tannins. The wine is then aged in stainless steel before bottling, preserving its vibrant fruit and freshness without any oak influence.
