Why You'll Love It
Richly fruited yet impeccably composed, this is a classic Nahe Spätlese. Layers of white peach, apricot, citrus and delicate floral notes are supported by the cool mineral character of Hermannshöhle, giving the wine both generosity and definition. The sweetness is beautifully integrated, with bright acidity providing freshness from start to finish. It pairs particularly well with blue cheeses, lightly spiced Asian dishes, foie gras or fruit-based desserts, and will continue to gain complexity with careful cellaring over the coming decades.
About The Producer
The Dönnhoff family have been farming in Oberhausen, on the banks of the River Nahe, for generations, but it was Helmut Dönnhoff who transformed the estate into one of Germany’s great names from his first vintage in 1971. Today, his son Cornelius continues the family’s meticulous approach across some of the Nahe’s finest vineyards.
Dönnhoff’s Rieslings are celebrated for their remarkable purity, energy and sense of place. From the volcanic slopes of Kupfergrube to the slate and sandstone of Hermannshöhle, Brücke and Leistenberg, each vineyard has a distinct character, translated with extraordinary precision in the cellar. The result is a range of beautifully transparent Rieslings that we believe rank among the very finest wines Germany has to offer.

Winemaking Information
Produced from the renowned Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle, one of Germany's greatest Riesling vineyards, this Spätlese comes from steep south-facing slopes of black-grey slate with volcanic porphyry and limestone. The grapes are harvested selectively by hand from vines up to 65 years old before gentle fermentation and ageing in stainless steel, preserving the vineyard's purity and precision. The naturally low alcohol and vibrant acidity ensure exceptional balance and outstanding ageing potential.
