The grapes are grown in the rolling hills of Moixent in Valencia, eastern Spain. Here, old Mandó vines thrive on poor, chalky soils, coaxing out delicate fruit character and a distinctly mineral edge. The wine is 100% Mandó, fermented naturally and aged for six months in buried clay amphora.
Celler del Roure’s owner and winemaker, Pablo Calatayud, has made it his mission to revive indigenous grape varieties and bring old-school Valencian craftsmanship back to life. By ditching oak and embracing amphora, he crafts wines that are pure, fresh and quietly characterful. Les Prunes is his rosado love letter to Mandó. Bright, elegant and just begging for a sunny afternoon.
