Reader, this is your fair warning... This is not Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc as you know it. Sure, it comes from one of the most recognisable names in the region, Kim Crawford, but stylistically Loveblock is a fun departure from the norm.

From a small organic vineyard in the Lower Dashwood sub-region of Marlborough’s Awatere Valley is this vibrant, electrifying Savvy-B. Bright, zingy flavours of mandarin, quince, sweet basil, gooseberry and white pepper all scream from the glass. The palate is juicy, layered and textured with bold flavours of pineapple and papaya with a subtle tannic grip.

Tannin?! In white wine?! yes indeed. Loveblock 'Tee' Sauvignon was the first wine in the world to use green tea extract (which contains tannin) as a preservative instead of sulphur dioxide. Perched high in the hills of the Awatere Valley, Loveblock feels a world away from the agricultural hustle and bustle below. Kim and Erica Crawford acquired this wild and untamed patch of land in 2004 and have turned their organic farm into a haven of biodiversity.
Winemaking Information
TEE is one of the world's most innovative Sauvignon Blancs. Instead of using sulphur dioxide as a preservative, Loveblock protects the wine with a natural extract of green tea tannins, dramatically reducing the need for sulphur while maintaining freshness and stability. The organically grown fruit is fermented with indigenous yeasts before careful handling throughout the winemaking process preserves its purity. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc with greater texture, complexity and ageability than the classic Marlborough style.
