Why You'll Love It
So smooth you immediately understand why Touriga is Portugal's top-dog red grape. Like sucking on a soft salted caramel as you soak up the warm summer sunshine. It's the low and slow cooked brisket of red wine.
The complexity and interest that meets you in the glass here is truly intriguing. Opening with a predictable unctuous red fruit profile, it leaps to Christmas cake, clove, cinnamon and effortlessly slides to dark fruit and lifted violet aromatics.
Cue that signature Touriga mouthfeel, full flavour but medium body. It fills the mouth with raspberry jam and sweet blackberry. On the finish; a very unique Szechuan peppercorn edge leaves the palate tingling.

About The Producer
Vinteloper was founded by David Bowley with a simple philosophy: make wines with personality that are serious in quality but never intimidating. Although based in the Adelaide Hills, the winery has built a strong reputation for producing expressive wines that reflect the unique character of each vineyard site. A thoughtful, hands-off approach in both the vineyard and winery allows the fruit to speak for itself, creating wines with precision, energy and a genuine sense of place.
Winemaking Information
Sourced from a single vineyard in Langhorne Creek, this Touriga Nacional is made with a gentle, minimal intervention approach. Whole berries are fermented with indigenous yeasts in open-top fermenters before undergoing malolactic fermentation and ageing in seasoned French oak, allowing the fruit to remain the focus. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration, preserving its texture, depth and natural character.
