Bartinney Chardonnay 2023

Unctuous, soft Chardonnay that treads the line between richness and freshness exquisitely. Aromas of lime and pineapple dance with coconut and vanilla oak. On the palate, vibrant stone fruits and pistachio nuttiness are balanced by a lovely energetic acidity. What a lovely weight and glossy texture this wine has. Everything is in harmony here. Surely destined to be enjoyed in good company over a roast chicken on Sunday. 

Established in 1912, Bartinney has been in the Jordaan family since 1953. Now Michael and Rose Jordaan tend to the 28- hectare farm, with a vision to create excellent wines and “reawaken the charm of the historic land”. And charming is right: perched on the dramatic slopes of Botmaskop alongside the Helshoogte Pass, overlooking the picturesque Banhoek Valley in Stellenbosch. Rose Jordaan describes her wines as: “wine made on a mountain”.
