Why You'll Love It
Like Rioja’s sun-kissed cousin from the south. Juicy and fragrant with alluring flavours of red fruit and toasty new wood, with a subtle Mediterranean herby edge. Rich and velvety on the palate with lovely soft tannins and plenty more fruit to chew on. Well balanced with a fine acidity so that it never feels heavy, this is destined to be enjoyed with lamb, pork, or anything slow-cooked and rich.
About The Producer
Clos de Lôm is a family-run estate with roots going back to 1836. The vineyards of are located in the “Valle Dels Alforins”, within Valencia's GI, planted 600 metres above sea level. Here they benefit from southern warmth, balanced by freshness provided by altitude. The wines across the board are pure and expressive.
Wines from this part of Spain have been improving dramatically in recent years and Clos de Lôm are setting the benchmark for quality. The focus is on local grape varieties; Monastrell, Garnacha and Malvasia, alongside Tempranillo. The vineyards sit on a mix of clay and limestone, with warm days, cool nights and a bit of Mediterranean influence (the sea’s not far off), which keeps things fresh and balanced. Old bush vines, no irrigation, and all picked by hand. Proper farming.

Winemaking Information
Isidra is made from the estate's finest dry-farmed, bush-trained vineyards, averaging around 30 years of age and planted at 450 metres above sea level in Valencia's Vall dels Alforins. The grapes are hand-picked early in the morning before undergoing a seven-day cold maceration in stainless steel to maximise aromatic expression. Fermentation takes place under temperature control, followed by malolactic fermentation in tank. Garnacha and Tempranillo are then aged separately for 12 months in new 300-litre French and American oak barrels before blending and a further six months' bottle ageing.
