Chill it properly, stick something on the barbecue and serve with Greek salad, grilled fish or chicken. Sunshine would be nice, but it isn’t essential.
About The Producer
Cramele Recaș began its modern life in 1988, when three families took on 650 hectares of neglected vineyards and a former state-owned winery. Today, Philip and Elvira Cox have transformed it into one of Romania’s most successful and forward-thinking producers. Significant investment in the vineyards and cellar allows them to make modern, fruit-led wines that consistently deliver far more character than their price suggests.
Winemaking Information
The estate-grown Pinot Noir is harvested early in the morning, while the grapes are still cool, helping to preserve fresh fruit and acidity. After destemming and crushing, the fruit is chilled and given a short period of skin contact to extract its delicate pink colour. It is then softly pressed and fermented at controlled temperatures like a white wine, with no oak ageing.
