The 14th vintage of Shiraz produced by Vinteloper. This edition opens with a juiciness much like the hum of a well-tuned vintage car warming up for a Sunday drive. Bright blue fruit and a hint of savoury baking spices are in the driver’s seat. 2nd gear brings the blackcurrant and darker fruits, with a hint of white pepper - classic! Pushing into 3rd the palate ramps up complexity, starting with well-rounded feels, a silky tannin structure relaxes you into the seat. Then clove, worn leather and that roasted veg umami we love backs it up as we hit 4th. You can sense the time invested in this machine by the length and structure that it presents. 5th gear remains lively, intriguing, leaving you longing for the next sweeping bend.

Vinteloper was founded by David Bowley with a simple philosophy: make wines with personality that are serious in quality but never intimidating. Although based in the Adelaide Hills, the winery has built a strong reputation for producing expressive wines that reflect the unique character of each vineyard site. A thoughtful, hands-off approach in both the vineyard and winery allows the fruit to speak for itself, creating wines with precision, energy and a genuine sense of place.
Winemaking Information
Sourced from a cool-climate vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, this Shiraz is fermented slowly on its skins to build colour, flavour and fine tannins before completing fermentation in French oak. A small proportion of new barrels adds subtle spice and structure, while extended maturation allows the wine to develop depth without overpowering the fruit. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving both texture and character.
