El Camarón Albariño 2024

Since all the growers of Albariño got together and collectively decided to charge more for their grapes, we have been seeking a super well-sub-20 Albariño. We've found it in El Camarón (which is Spanish for shrimp). This has all of the zing and crispness one expects, with flavours of lemon and lime, nutmeg spice and a lovely tangy, saline zip. The palate is light and fresh with flavours of nectarine and a lovely stoniness. With a name like El Camarón, you shouldn't need me to tell you that this works wonders with shellfish.

This Albariño comes from the premium sub-zone of Val do Salnés, the beating heart of Rías Baixas. Very close to the Atlantic Ocean, picking up characteristic saline freshness. To ensure perfect sun exposure and protect the vines from the intense Galician winds, vines are trained on traditional south-facing pergolas. This wine is traditional in every sense.
