The Liberator 'Midnight Bakkie Rides Again' Chenin Blanc 2022

Thanks to an abundant crop of fruit in 2022, this fresh, electric, Chenin Blanc from superstar winemaker, Chris Alheit, needed a new home. Intrepid Cape Crusader Richard Kelley MW was only too happy to lend a hand. Whilst these grapes didn’t make the grade for the Alheit’s legendary wines, fans of The Liberator benefit dramatically from this bottling. Zippy, fresh Chenin with citrus and salt. Drinking brilliantly now, but those with patience to wait a couple of years will be rewarded.

The ‘return of midnight bakkie’ suggests a follow up to an earlier Liberator release. It is, although previously, our winemaker had demanded complete anonymity, his face pixelated to hide his true identity. This time, however, his cover has been completely blown…
