André is described by the UK agent for this wine, Richard Kelley MW, as "the greatest winemaker in the world". This wine is undoubtedly his signature white. "This is no facile poolside quaffer", AvR warns. This is serious barrel-fermented Sauvignon with a small (5%) inclusion of the waxy, rounder Semillon for texture and softness. Initially taut and bone dry with a zippy acidity, the wine unfolds it's layers of grapefruit, hay and elderberry to reveal a stoney, slate-like mineraility on a savoury palate. Energetic and impressive.
