This is classic Southern Rhône with a fresh twist. Juicy cherry, wild strawberry and bramble fruit are layered with cracked black pepper, herbs and a lovely stony character that gives the wine real lift. It has all the generosity you'd expect from Grenache, but there's an energy here that keeps everything vibrant and dangerously drinkable.

About The Producer
Château Boucarut is one of the Rhône's most exciting new names. Founded in 2017 by Saskia and Maurice Goetschy after leaving careers in Luxembourg, the estate sits in Lirac on the right bank of the Rhône opposite Châteauneuf-du-Pape. They were drawn to Lirac's exceptional terroir, cooler microclimate and incredible value, believing it has every bit as much potential as its famous neighbour. Farming is organic and regenerative, with biodiversity encouraged throughout the vineyards, and the wines are made with minimal intervention to express the freshness and energy of the site. Despite being a young domaine, Boucarut has already earned glowing reviews from critics and is quickly becoming one of the appellation's rising stars.
Winemaking Information
The grapes are hand-harvested from organically farmed vineyards on the pebble-covered terraces of Lirac. After destemming, fermentation takes place in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts and no sulphur additions during vinification. The wine spends around 12 months ageing in tank before being bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving both the purity of the fruit and the character of the vineyard. It's a natural approach, but one rooted in precision rather than funk.
