Felton Road 'Block 3' Pinot Noir 2022

I don't subscribe the idea of an epiphany wine. My eyes are opened every day to delicious discoveries. But if I had to put a finger on just one bottle, that in my early days in wine really made me sit up, it would be Felton Road's 'Block 3' Pinot Noir 2002. 20 years on, this wine is as special as the vivid memory I have of that particular occasion. Felton Road describe 2022 as "the complete epitome of this iconic wine". The wine is dark, rich and silky. Blackcurrant and cherries dominate the nose, but give way to fresh herbs, rose petal and a soft cocoa aroma. The palate is at once dense, yet weightless with velvety tannins and an ethereal, long finish.
