Piedmont fans, this one’s for you. For our next Meet the Makers we’re welcoming Agricola Marrone, a brilliant family estate based in La Morra, right in the heart of the Langhe.
Four generations of the Marrone family have worked these hills for over a century and today Gian Piero works alongside his three daughters, Denise, Serena and Valentina. Proper family winemaking, in one of our favourite corners of Italy. What’s not to love?
The Marrones make the sort of wines that remind you why Piedmont gets wine people quite so excited. Native grapes, hand-harvested vineyards and plenty of respect for what they’ve inherited, but without being stuck in the past. Their range takes you right across the Langhe, from brilliant whites through Barbera and Nebbiolo and all the way up to the big guns: Barbaresco and Barolo.
For this special evening, we’ll be joined by the Agricola Marrone team to taste a hand-picked selection of their wines and get to know the family behind the bottles. We’ll talk Piedmont, vineyards, native grapes, winemaking and, naturally, all things Nebbiolo.
No stuffiness. No wine snobbery. Still very much Vino Gusto.
As always, cheese and charcuterie included.

- We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor WC and tasting room is not forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. Sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
- Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
