About The Producer
Recaredo is one of Spain's most revered sparkling wine producers and a founding member of the Corpinnat collective, which champions estate-grown, hand-harvested sparkling wines from the historic heart of Penedès. Family-owned since 1924, Recaredo farms all of its vineyards organically and biodynamically, producing only vintage Brut Nature wines. Every bottle is aged under natural cork, hand-disgorged and released only when the family believes it has reached its peak, earning the winery a reputation as one of the world's great traditional method sparkling wine producers.
Winemaking Information
Terrers is made exclusively from organically and biodynamically farmed estate vineyards in the Corpinnat region of Penedès, with each grape variety harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. The fruit is gently whole-bunch pressed before undergoing a slow first fermentation using indigenous yeasts. The wine then undergoes a second fermentation in bottle following the traditional method and is matured on its lees for at least 48 months, developing exceptional complexity and finesse. Unlike most sparkling wine producers, Recaredo ages every bottle under natural cork rather than crown cap, believing it allows for a more harmonious maturation. Each bottle is also hand-disgorged without freezing the neck, preserving texture and precision, before being released with no dosage, allowing the purity of the fruit and the character of the limestone soils to shine through.
