About The Producer
Cramele Recaș has helped put modern Romanian wine firmly back on the map. Developed by the Cox and Recaș families from a former state winery, the estate combines extensive vineyards in western Romania with modern facilities and an adventurous approach to grape varieties. Alongside international favourites, the team champions local grapes such as Fetească Albă, proving just how much Romania has to offer.
Winemaking Information
Estate-grown fruit from the Uberland Hill vineyard in western Romania. The 2025 blend is 85% Pinot Noir, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Negru de Drăgășani and 2% Merlot. Around a quarter of the fruit undergoes ten days of whole-bunch carbonic maceration; the remainder is destemmed and fermented conventionally in stainless steel at about 25°C. The conventionally fermented portion receives a brief two-month French oak treatment before blending.
