Riesling: Germany VS The World // Friday 14th August 2026 // VG Tasting Room // 7pm
- Available
- Backordered, shipping soon
We all know Germany is the true home of Riesling. From the crisp, mineral styles to the uber-sweet examples they never fail to be top quality. However, the rest of the world may have something to say about that...
Join Henry as he opens 6 bottles of, arguably, the most miss-understood grape variety. Of course we will taste some wonderful German examples... but from nearby Alsace all the way to Clare Valley in Australia, there are bottles who may well give the Germans a run for their money.
So... join us upstairs in the tasting room and help Henry decide if Germany is still 'where it's at' or if Riesling has finally grown up and flown the nest.
Of course, we take our wine very seriously, but fear not our tastings remain informal. Join us for a relaxed evening chatting about wine, tasting some top quality plonk and you may just leave having learned a little too.
As always, cheese and charcuterie included.

- Please confirm when booking if you have any allergies or dietary requirements. Please note that our cheese & wine tastings cannot be tailored to accommodate strict vegetarian diets due to the nature of our presentation.
- Strictly no under 18's.
- We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor WC and tasting room is not forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. Sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
- Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
